During the zoom webinar, held on July 7th, "Why and Where to Invest in Residential Real Estate in post-Covid-19", João Richard Costa, Director of Marketing & Sales at Ombria Resort spoke about how space and nature are key elements when it comes to selecting a luxury property.

While these unusual times persist, the concept of socially distant luxury living has become an attractive one in a post-pandemic world, and affluent individuals are now looking for an investment that offers a new approach to luxury.

Although stunning views and spacious gardens, good internet connection and a home office are important characteristics, as is a good investment return, health care services, well-being concerns, escapism from the big cities and social distance have almost become mandatory.

With prospective buyers reassessing their priorities and values, the preference seems to be "living in an area surrounded by more greenery and open space, with a connection to nature, somewhere that they feel healthy and safe for their families," says João Richard Costa.

Portugal has been "sticking to the rules", and the government is dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic in the best way possible. Even with some outbreaks in the outskirts of Lisbon and some areas of contagion near Porto, "in the Algarve we have been spared", adds João.

From the Portuguese investment programmes like the Golden Visa and Non-Habitual Residence scheme to virtual viewings and brand confidence, this webinar offered a glimpse of what Ombria Resort is and will be in the near future.
