A message from Julio Delgado, CEO.
As we return to a ‘new normal’, we feel proud that Portugal, and the Algarve in particular, has been recognised as a good example in dealing with the covid-19 pandemic.
Construction works at our Viceroy Hotel & Residences have been progressing well, under strict hygiene protocols to ensure the health and well-being of everyone.
Property viewings and transactions have been possible since early May and we have seen an increase in enquiries from purchasers since the middle of May. We notice a relative shift in buyer’s priorities, with demand increasing in rural areas and for homes with easy access to nature and large green spaces, which is exactly what we offer at Ombria Resort!
Portugal was recently the first country in Europe to receive the “Safe Travels” seal from the World Travel & Tourism Council, and it ranked again as the third most peaceful country in the world in the 2020 Global Peace Index.
On 18 May, Portugal started reopening cultural facilities, restaurants, cafes, and shopping centres, albeit with health protocols and capacity restrictions in place. Beaches, golf courses, marinas and car hire businesses are open and operating with strict social distancing rules.
International flights to Faro started resuming on 28 May and even more, will resume in July and throughout the summer. The land border with Spain reopens on 1 July. There are no quarantine requirements for those arriving in Portugal.
By the beginning of July, most of the Algarve hotels and resorts will be open with new hygiene protocols and procedures according to the “Clean & Safe” seal created by Turismo de Portugal to ensure safety for staff and guests.
We are ready to welcome you in Loulé and hope that you can come and visit us soon.
