The amount raised will be delivered to the António Aleixo Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Loulé that works on various projects within the scope of social action. Anyone who wants to donate can do so through the GoFundMe platform.

ALUT is a trail running event that takes place on Via Algarviana, a Great Pedestrian Route belonging to the European Network of Pedestrian Trails (Route GR13) that crosses the entire interior of the Algarve from the barrocal to the mountains, passing through villages and hills. The GR13 - Via Algarviana starts from Alcoutim, on the banks of the Guadiana River, and ends at Cabo de São Vicente.

The long-distance route (300km) crosses the three mountains of the Algarve (Caldeirão, Monchique and Espinhaço de Cão), the barrocal, the edge of the mountains and part of the Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina Natural Park. The route also passes within walking distance of the Ombria Resort.

ALUT is organized by ATR-Associação Algarve Trail Running and has the support of the Algarve Tourism Region, ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal and Associação Almargem, the managing body of Via Algarviana.
