Ombria Resort, the world-leading luxury real estate development in the heart of the Algarve opening in Spring 2023, has been honoured at the 2020-2021 European Property Awards

The Alcedo Villas at Ombria Resort have been awarded the Best Residential Development in Portugal, to be announced at the virtual awards ceremony on the 11th December 2020. The European Property Awards is considered the most prestigious and recognised programme celebrating the highest levels of achievement across the real estate industry. Ombria Resort’s twelve bespoke new-build Alcedo Villas will be built as a turnkey project that can be personalised to fit the owner’s preferences. Nestled upon the hillside overlooking the golf course and rivers that wind through the resort; set upon expansive plots between 1,700 and 3,300 sq.m with total living areas between 387 m2 and 569 m2, these 3-7 bedroom villas will be constructed on individual plots with heated pools, lift, roof terrace, garage for 3 cars and large gardens.

The Villas’ unique yet contemporary design by Promontorio is inspired by local Portuguese traditions. The architecture, landscaping, material sourcing and design aesthetic all work in harmony with the natural surrounding environment to create a seamless experience of indoor-outdoor living.

Starting from €2,550,000, each villa has its own separate pavilion that can be used as a guest room or as an office and comes fully equipped with superfast fibre-optic internet connection. Owners of the Alcedo villas will also benefit from Ombria Resort’s full range of security and maintenance services, as well as privileges and access to the wide array of facilities of the 5-star Viceroy Hotel and the Ombria Resort golf course, both located on the villas’ doorstep.

Julio Delgado, CEO, Ombria Resort commented: “With the pandemic we have had the opportunity to rethink the way we work and live. Our villas are the perfect houses for those seeking security and the ideal balance between work and personal life. These are built on spacious individual plots, situated above a stream and with panoramic views to the golf course and surrounding natural landscape. The design maximizes the views, privacy and sun exposure in each villa".

Ombria Resort spreads over 150 hectares of serene, secluded and natural landscape in the inner Algarve, whilst being just 7 kilometres north of the charming town of Loule.́ Ombria Resort aims to be a pioneer of a new generation of low- density construction resorts, in which sustainability, the environment and the support of local heritage are priorities. The venture will be a factor in sustainable development, contributing to the reduction of seasonality in the Algarve and the creation of new opportunities for the local population.

The total construction density of the Ombria Resort is extremely low - about 3.5% -, which makes it one of Europe’s lowest desnity construction projects.

Ombria Resort’s overall ethos Carved by Nature has a deep commitment to pioneering sustainable tourism; incorporating environmental, economic and socio-cultural values into innovative, everyday actions that will ensure the natural and cultural surroundings live on for future generations.
